MARSHFIELD — Security Health Plan of Wisconsin Inc. is supporting victims of domestic violence with a $1,000 donation to the Personal Development Center (PDC) on behalf of a Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) employee who nominated PDC to receive the donation.
“The impact the PDC has on a victim of domestic violence or sexual assault is immeasurable,” said Kristina Howey, the MCHS employee whose nomination was selected for the monthly award. “This program allows families to rehabilitate from a harmful situation to one that allows the tension to dissolve. This donation will assist in PDC’s mission as well as align with our own mission to be patient-centered and focused on creating a healthier community.”
PDC is a private, nonprofit agency that provides case management, advocacy, and prevention education to individuals and families in central Wisconsin communities. The organization is dedicated to creating a community free from the threat of violence.
The Security Health Plan contribution is for the Center of Family Visitation program, whose mission is to be part of a collaborative community effort to provide safety and support to victims of family violence.
Every month Security Health Plan donates $1,000 as part of its Employee Driven Corporate Giving campaign. MCHS employees are encouraged to nominate an organization that is making a positive difference in the community.
