By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

OWEN — The Spencer baseball team came back from a four-run deficit to defeat Owen-Withee 12-7 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup Tuesday.

Owen-Withee scored four times in the top of the second before the Rockets exploded for five runs in the second, four in the third, and three more in the fourth to forge ahead.

Spencer took advantage of 12 walks by two Owen-Withee pitchers and also collected nine hits in the win.

Jonny Tomke and Hunter Luepke each had two hits and combined for five RBIs for Spencer (8-2, 7-1 Cloverbelt East).

The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed in the middle of the first inning. A make-up date has not been announced.
