Arbor Day celebration set for May 6

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Street Division will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration on May 6 at 12:45 p.m. at Grant Elementary, located at 425 W. Upham St.
Mayor Chris Meyer will give an opening presentation. At the conclusion of the program, all attendees will receive a tree seedling to be planted at their home.
Also at the event, Don Kissinger of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will present the city with its 2015 Tree City U.S.A. award, give a short history of Arbor Day, and demonstrate the proper way to plant a tree. The tree to be planted is being donated by Beaver Creek Nursery of Marshfield.
The public is invited to attend, and parking will be available on site.
