Tigers pound out seven extra base hits in road win

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

PITTSVILLE — Stratford cranked out 16 hits, seven for extra bases, and dominated Pittsville 14-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Tuesday at Pittsville High School.

Emily Manecke hit a pinch-hit home run, and Kaylee Geiger had three doubles and two RBIs for the Tigers, who improve to 6-2 overall and remain perfect at 4-0 in the Marawood South.

Stratford scored twice in the top of the first inning and blew the game open with a five-run second and six-run fourth, ending it via the 10-run rule after five innings.

Lorrie Luepke earned the win, giving up four hits and three walks while striking out six for the Tigers.

Casey Kolbeck, Brittany Bredemann, Macey Kilty, and Sammy Kaiser each added two hits for Stratford.

The Tigers host Northland Lutheran for a Marawood South doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m.
