MARSHFIELD — Stevens Point pitcher Trevor Anderson tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as the Panthers topped Marshfield 7-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball game Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Jared Klein and Paul Maguire had singles off Anderson, but that was all Marshfield could muster as it lost its third-straight game and fell to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the Valley.
Stevens Point (9-1, 5-0 WVC) scored at least one run in six of the seven innings.
Gus Turner-Zick led the way for the Panthers, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Nick Schroeder, Mack Journell, and Matt McHugh also had two hits each for Stevens Point.
Jake Brueggen suffered the loss for the Tigers, allowing five runs (three earned) in five innings.
Marshfield plays at Stevens Point on Thursday. The game, at Bukolt Park, begins at 4:30 p.m.
