MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Police Chief Rick Gramza said the 22-year-old Marshfield man who was found dead in his vehicle on Saturday night died by suicide.
Hub City Times previously reported that the man was found at about 5:30 p.m. Further clarification from Gramza confirmed the man was found closer to 7:20 p.m. The man’s mother reported concern over his welfare at about 5:30 p.m.
The car in which the man was found was parked in a parking lot at 2001 W. Eighth St. A coroner was sent to the scene, and the body was then given to Rembs Funeral Home. Gramza said police found the man by using his cell phone’s signal to isolate the area he may be in and then “saturating that area of the city.”
Hub City Times is declining to release the name of the man out of respect for his family. Gramza said there is no ongoing investigation.
