Rhinelander doubles up Marshfield softball

RHINELANDER – Rhinelander scored six runs over the first three innings and went on to defeat Marshfield 8-4 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Pioneer Park.
Marshfield cut the Hodags’ lead to 6-3 in the fifth, but Rhinelander (8-0) added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to keep the Tigers at bay.
Kaitlyn Konrardy took the loss for Marshfield, giving up seven runs (five earned) in 5 1/3 innings.
Jenna Jakobi went 3-for-4 and scored twice, and Emily Draeger had two hits for Marshfield (5-6).
Marshfield plays at Wausau East on Tuesday and at Wausau West on Thursday in a pair of Wisconsin Valley Conference games.
