MIDDLETON – The Marshfield baseball team was swept in a nonconference doubleheader Saturday at Middleton, losing 8-7 and 4-2.

Marshfield led 4-2 after a four-run second inning in Game 1 but could not hang on as Middleton scored four runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull ahead.

The Tigers scored twice in the seventh but were unable to get the tying run across.

Braden Bohman and Jake Brueggen each drove in two runs, and Paul Maguire and Jared Klein both had two hits for Marshfield in the loss.

In Game 2, Middleton scored three unearned runs against Brueggen in the second inning.

Trevor Schwecke had two hits and Maguire drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers (4-6).

Marshfield hosts Stevens Point on Tuesday at Hackman Field.
