Stratford scored four times in the first and led 5-0 after two innings. Assumption then reached Tigers pitcher Kiana Weiler for four runs in the third.

Stratford led 8-4 before Assumption scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to make it close, but the Royals could not get any more in the final inning.

Brittany Bredemann had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs for the Tigers. Kaylee Geiger added a single, a home run, and three RBIs; Sammy Kaiser had a pair of doubles; and Val Licciardi had two this and scored twice for Stratford.

Stratford hosts its annual home invitational on Saturday and is home against Marathon, which is also unbeaten in the Marawood South, on Monday.
