Rockets win 20th-straight Cloverbelt East game

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

COLBY — Spencer cranked out 17 hits and scored five runs in the final two innings to pull away and defeat Colby 10-3 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Friday at Colby High School.

Spencer scored three runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed, improving to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East. The defending conference champion Rockets have now won 20-straight Cloverbelt East games dating back to the end of the 2014 season.

Jenna Schober and Macie Weber both went 3-for-5, and Lexi Baehr, Kallie Reckner, and Felicia Bauer each had two hits for Spencer.

Weber earned the win on the mound, striking out 10 and allowing six hits and three walks. All three Colby (1-6, 1-3 Cloverbelt East) runs were unearned as the Rockets committed three errors.

Spencer is off until Thursday when it plays at Neillsville.
