Bright young minds: Marshfield 12th at State Science Olympiad Competition

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield Middle School Science Olympiad Team competed at the State Science Olympiad Competition at UW-Stout on Saturday, April 2, placing 12th out of 30 schools.
Macy Perrine and Minh-Thy Tyler finished in fourth place in the air trajectory category; Brynn Harringon, Jacob Justice, and Tyler came in sixth in bio-process lab; and Perrine and Maya Scheibe took sixth in food science.
Science Olympiad is an American elementary school, middle school, and high school team competition in which students compete in events related to various scientific disciplines. Over 6,700 teams from all 50 U.S. states compete each year.
The Marshfield team is coached by Marshfield Middle School teachers Randy Hartwig, science, and Shawn Trudeau, technology.
