SPENCER — America’s favorite cowboys, Riders in the Sky, are returning to the on Sunday, April 10, for two performances of “A Salute to Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys.”

For 38 years Riders in the Sky have been keepers of the flame passed on by the Sons of the Pioneers, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers, reviving and revitalizing Western music. And while remaining true to the integrity of the genre, they have themselves become modern-day icons by branding it with their humor and wit.

Riders in the Sky are stars of the stage, screen, the Grand Ole Opry, National Public Radio, XM Satellite Radio, Saturday morning TV, and are the only exclusively Western artist to have won two Grammy Awards. They have written and performed music for major motion pictures, including “Toy Story 2,” “Monsters Inc.,” and the Pixar short film “For the Birds.”

Performances are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. with reserved seating tickets $25 for adults and $10 for youth. Tickets may be purchased online at lucilletackcenter.com; by phone at 715-659-4499; or at the box office, 300 School St. in Spencer, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This exceptional event is sponsored in part by the generosity of Joe and Kathy Burnett, Citizens State Bank of Loyal, and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
