MARSHFIELD — On March 29 the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry cut the ribbon for Dan Reis at Reis Martial Arts Academy.

Located at 2001 S. Central Ave., Suite B, Reis Martial Arts Academy serves the people of Marshfield and its surrounding communities. As the academy has steadily grown, it was necessary to expand the facility to provide better service to students. The new space provides much needed room for increased class sizes. The academy offers a wide variety of training for all students — children ages 4 through senior citizens — and regularly gives demos at community events.

Owner Reis is a sixth degree black belt with more than 22 years of experience in various martial arts and self-defense disciplines. Reis is also a master instructor, meaning he teaches other instructors on various martial arts-related techniques. He has won 20 grand champion competitions in forms and point sparring and over a hundred first-place awards.

Reis teaches tae kwon do, nunchaku-do, and Eskrima weapons as well as practical street defense, women’s self-defense, pressure sensitive training, joint manipulation, and grappling. Additionally, he can customize training programs to accommodate people with special needs and disabilities.
