Intoxicated man violates absolute sobriety bond condition
Police responded at 1:20 p.m. to a report of an intoxicated 37-year-old man who was out on bond with absolute sobriety as a condition on the 1600 block of N. Jean Ave. The man was taken into custody for misdemeanor bail jumping and was placed on a probation hold.
After being medically cleared at the Saint Joseph’s Hospital emergency room, he was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail.
Marshfield man taken into custody for warrant
Police took a 29-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 900 block of W. Blodgett St. for a valid warrant. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then released after bond was posted.
Saturday, March 26
Man with warrant arrested for second OWI
At 2:23 a.m. a 29-year-old Marshfield man that had an active Wood County warrant was seen driving northbound on Peach Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of Waushara Drive and Palmetto Avenue.
The man performed field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody for operating while under the influence (OWI), second offense, and the warrant. He was booked, taken to the ER for a blood draw after refusal procedures were conducted, posted bond, and was released to a sober adult.
Twenty-four-year-old man arrested
Police arrested a 24-year-old Marshfield man at 12:31 p.m. for theft and drug charges following an investigation. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, where he was booked, and then to Wood County Jail. Charges will be requested through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Marshfield man commits battery, other offenses
Police responded at 6:37 p.m. to a report of a disturbance on the 400 block of N. Broadway Ave. and subsequently arrested a 25-year-old Marshfield man who had left the scene.
The man had caused a disturbance, damaged a door to force his way inside the residence, and physically harmed a woman. He was in an argument with his girlfriend and forced his way into the residence to go after her and their child.
The man was taken to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and posted the required bond to be released. A 72-hour no-contact period was enforced. Charges of battery, disorderly conduct – domestic, criminal trespassing – domestic, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct will be referred to the DA’s office.
Sunday, March 27
Two women cited for underage drinking, one arrested for drug possession
A 20-year-old Weston woman was arrested at 1:44 a.m. for possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia and was cited for underage alcohol consumption as a result of an investigation into suspicious behavior at a parking lot on the 100 block of W. Fifth St. A 20-year-old Wausau woman was also cited for underage alcohol consumption.
The Weston woman was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and released. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Man warned for harassment
A Granton man and a Marshfield woman reported that a 28-year-old homeless man had come to a residence on the 700 block of E. Third St. to instigate a fight with the Granton man at 8:58 a.m.
The 28-year-old never entered the residence but sat in his car in the driveway and texted the Granton man to come out and talk. The Granton man told the 28-year-old that he would not come outside and that he was going to call the police.
The 28-year-old left the residence prior to police arrival, but an officer later conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the given description. Police warned the 28-year-old to have no further contact with the Granton man and Marshfield woman and not to come to the residence. Further interactions would result in citations or possible arrest. The man stated he understood and was released without incident.
Inebriated woman drives vehicle onto train tracks
Police responded at 10:18 p.m. to a 49-year-old woman driving her vehicle off the road and onto the train tracks near the intersection of Mann Road and Veterans Parkway. The woman had a heavy odor of intoxicants, there was an open bottle of vodka in the front seat area, and she stated she had consumed vodka prior to driving the vehicle.
She performed field sobriety tests poorly and was arrested for OWI, second offense; operating after revocation; failure to install an ignition interlock device; possession of open intoxicant in a motor vehicle – driver; and nonregistration of a motor vehicle. After being taken to the Saint Joseph’s ER for a blood draw, she was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and then released to a responsible party.
Police take man into custody for probation hold
Police took a 29-year-old Clark County man into custody for a valid probation hold on the 400 block of S. Central Ave. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and later transported to Clark County Jail.
Monday, March 28
Two taken into custody on probation holds, one for DOC warrant
At 11:22 a.m. police took a 29-year-old Stevens Point woman into custody on the 600 block of N. St Joseph Ave. for a valid probation hold. She was then transported to the Portage County and Wood County line on Highway 10 and turned over to a Portage County deputy. No further action was taken.
At 1:14 p.m. police took a 46-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 2200 block of S. Maple Ave. for a valid probation hold. He was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then transported to Wood County Jail, where he was released to the jail staff’s care.
Police took a 26-year-old Marshfield man on the 300 block of W. Third St. for a body only Department of Corrections warrant due to a probation violation. He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department, where booking procedures were performed, and then to Wood County Jail.
IPhone stolen from delivered package
A Marshfield man reported that his package was stolen some time between 1:04 and 2:30 p.m. The man did receive the package at his residence on the 700 block of S. Ash Ave., but he found the package opened with the item — an iPhone 6 — that was inside it missing.
The U.S. Postal Service said the package was still intact when it was dropped off. There are no suspects at this time.
Tuesday, March 29
Over $3,800 of unauthorized transactions charged to woman’s credit card
A Marshfield woman reported at 3:31 p.m. that her credit/debit card information had been used as many unauthorized charges totaling $3,887.88 were made by numerous suspects from the United States and other countries. The woman did cancel the card but not before the charges occurred. Investigation will continue.
