Marshfield softball rips Tomah in season opener
Tigers have 16 hits in road win

TOMAH — The Marshfield softball team began its 2016 season with a bang, routing Tomah 14-3 in a nonconference game Tuesday afternoon.
Megan Donahue was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs and also struck out nine batters in 3 2/3 innings on the mound for the Tigers.
Emily Draeger also went 4-for-5, Jenna Jakobi hit a two-run home run, and Maddie Mews drove in a pair for Marshfield.
Kaitlyn Konrardy earned the win for Marshfield, allowing two runs in 2 1/3 innings.
Eight of the Tigers’ nine starters had at least one hit.
Marshfield will head to Illinois to play three games later this week. The Tigers will take on Hersey High School in Arlington Heights on Friday and will play a doubleheader at Ottawa on Saturday.
