Out-of-town man flees police, tased

MARSHFIELD — A 44-year-old man from Arkansas City, Kan., fled from Marshfield police on foot after a traffic stop was initiated Friday morning around 2:20 a.m. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Ives Street and North Cedar Avenue.
According to the police report, an officer observed the man’s vehicle “deviate from its own lane” two times without using a signal.
“He was apprehended by officers and resisted arrest, (resulting) in him being tased several times,” according to the report.
The report said the man was taken into custody, and a “strong odor of intoxicants” was coming from his breath in addition to his “bloodshot, glossed over eyes and slurred and slow speech.”
The man refused a blood draw was arrested for operating while under the influence, first offense, and resisting/obstructing an officer. He was also cited for unsafe lane deviation, booked, and taken to Wood County Jail.
