MARATHON – The Stratford girls basketball team’s season came to an end Saturday night with a 65-42 loss to Marathon in a WIAA Division 4 regional final at Marathon High School.

Marathon, co-champion of the Marawood Conference South Division, defeated the Tigers for the third time this season, all by 20-plus points.

The top-seeded Raiders (21-4) move on to a sectional semifinal against Neillsville (21-4) at Wausau West on Thursday. Neillsville topped Auburndale 42-26 on Saturday.

Stratford ends its season with a 17-7 record.
