ABBOTSFORD — Auburndale outscored Abbotsford by 10 points in the second half to break open a tight game and beat the Falcons 62-50 in a nonconference boys basketball contest on Monday at Abbotsford High School.

Auburndale (8-12) led 33-31 at halftime before holding the Falcons (11-10) to just 19 second-half points to pull out the victory.

Collin Hawkins had 17 points, and Luke Olsen added 12 for Auburndale, which has won four of its last five games.

Auburndale wraps up its regular-season schedule Thursday in the sixth-place game of the Marawood Conference North-South crossovers at Chequamegon. The Apaches open WIAA playoff action on March 1 at home against Neillsville in a Division 4 regional quarterfinal.
