WAUSAU — Alec Hinson and Adam Fravert each scored 19 points to lead the Marshfield boys basketball team to its sixth-straight win as it defeated Wausau East 70-64 to complete a Wisconsin Valley Conference sweep of the Lumberjacks on Friday night at East High School.

Marshfield shot a solid 48 percent (24 of 50) and made 10 of 22 from 3-point range to earn the victory and improve to 14-7 overall and 6-5 in the WVC. East and Marshfield have identical records and are tied for third in the conference standings. With a win at Wausau West on Thursday, the Tigers would move into a tie for second place.

Hinson made 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and Ethan Posteluk and Fravert each added two more from distance.

JP Lacy topped East with 26 points.

Marshfield will learn of its WIAA playoff opener when the brackets are released on Sunday.

Thursday’s regular-season finale at West will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
