SPENCER — Senior Bobby Pilz scored 26 points to move into second place on the Spencer boys basketball program’s all-time scoring list and the Rockets cruised to a 77-42 victory over Gilman on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Pilz needed 17 points to reach second place, which he got in the first half to pass 1995 graduate Mike Schiszik. Pilz now has 1,214 points in his career, including 430 this season. Jason Shupe, a 1996 graduate, is the all-time scoring leader at 1,524 points.

Pilz made 11 of 18 shots from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, and added seven rebounds for the Rockets (13-6, 9-5 Cloverbelt Conference East Division).

Calvin Lenz chipped in with 17 points, and Jack Bezlyk had 13 points and seven rebounds for Spencer.

Spencer is at Colby on Friday.
