Stratford girls basketball knocks off Iola-Scandinavia

Griesbach leads Tigers (15-4) with 17 points

IOLA — Sammy Griesbach scored 13 of her 17 points in the second half as the Stratford girls basketball team picked up a 52-28 nonconference win at Iola-Scandinavia on Tuesday.

Savannah Schillinger drilled three 3-pointers in the first half and added 11 points for the Tigers, who are now 15-4 this season.

Stratford led 18-11 after a low-scoring first half but picked up the pace with 34 points in the second half as it made 8 of 10 free throws.

Leighten Fischer had 13 points to lead Iola-Scandinavia (8-10).

Stratford plays at Marathon on Thursday.
