Schillinger scores 16 points to lead Tigers

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

STRATFORD — Savannah Schillinger had five 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 16 points for the Stratford girls basketball team in a 60-33 rout of Pittsville on Friday night at Stratford High School.

Sammy Griesbach and Andie Zuelke each added 15 points, and Schillinger had nine assists for the Tigers, who are now 14-4 overall and 6-4 in the Marawood Conference South Division.

Pittsville drops to 3-14 and 1-9 in the conference.

Stratford shot poorly from the line (5 of 14) but still got the win, cruising out to a 24-12 halftime lead and limiting Pittsville to just 12 made baskets in the game.

Miranda Ortner scored 16 points for the Panthers.

Stratford is at Iola-Scandinavia for a nonconference game on Tuesday.
