MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Clinic Marshfield Center has extended its Urgent Care hours on weekends to provide more affordable health care options to patients.

Marshfield Center’s Urgent Care, 1000 N. Oak Ave., will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“We found many of our patients going to the emergency room after Urgent Care closed,” said Clinic Administrator Bob Smith. “Emergency room care is a more expensive form of care, so patients would have emergency room charges through their insurer, raising the cost of their care. By extending Urgent Care hours, we increase our availability to patients and provide care at a lower cost.”

Urgent Care weekday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends, and 8 a.m. to noon on holidays.
