Columbus Catholic boys basketball cruises past Neillsville

Dons push record to 11-0 in Cloverbelt East

NEILLSVILLE — Three Marshfield Columbus Catholic players scored 20 or more points as the Dons rolled to a 92-62 victory over Neillsville in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Friday night at Neillsville High School.

Hunter Schultz scored 24 points, and Evan Nikolai and Tyler Fuerlinger each added 20 for Columbus Catholic, which is now 14-1 overall and remains perfect in the Cloverbelt East at 11-0.

The Dons rolled out to a 52-31 lead by halftime and held on easily from there.

Columbus Catholic maintains a three-game lead in the Cloverbelt East standings over Loyal and is now four games in front of Neillsville with five conference games remaining for the Dons.

Michael Dux had 25 points for Neillsville (8-7, 8-4 Cloverbelt East).

Columbus Catholic hosts Colby on Tuesday as it will play its next three games at home. The Dons play Granton on Thursday and Marawood South champion Marathon on Feb. 13.
