Owen-Withee edges Columbus Catholic girls basketball

Abby Baierl sets new 3-point record for Columbus

MARSHFIELD — Abby Baierl scored 17 points and set a new school-record for 3-pointers made for her career, but the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team came up short in a 58-48 loss to Owen-Withee in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Baierl made a pair of 3-pointers to give her 104 for her career, besting the former record of 102.

Jessica Trad added nine points, and Marissa Immerfall had seven points and 14 rebounds for the Dons (8-10, 5-8 Cloverbelt East).

Whitney Baehr had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Owen-Withee (11-6, 9-4 Cloverbelt East).

The Dons trailed 26-22 at halftime and could not make up any ground in the second half.

Columbus Catholic plays at Neillsville on Tuesday.
