EATON — A Marshfield man suffered an “incapacitating” injury after a car in which he was a passenger collided with a van on State Highway 73 in the township of Eaton at about 7:44 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Slater, 26, was in a car with Kionna Slater, 24, who was driving north on State Highway 73 when a truck in front her caused her to brake, and she subsequently lost control of her car, which began to spin, according to initial investigation.

The car then struck a southbound van driven by Mavis Liebzeit, 80, which had five occupants, some of whom were special needs children, the release said. According to the release, “There were three children hurt in the van with nonincapacitating injuries.” The passengers of the van, the release said, were “from the Greenwood and Loyal area.”

All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts. Hub City Times has reached out to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for more information on this story.
