Marshfield girls basketball tops Wausau West for seventh-straight win
Scheuer has team-high 19 points

WAUSAU — McKayla Scheuer scored 19 points, and Ema Fehrenbach had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Marshfield girls basketball team held off Wausau West 53-49 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game on Friday night at West High School.
The game was tied at 26-26 at halftime before the Tigers pulled ahead late to tally their seventh-straight win.
Marshfield is now 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, and West drops to 8-5 and 3-3 in the conference.
Scheuer drilled three 3-pointers and made all four of her free throw attempts for the Tigers. In all Marshfield was 17 of 23 at the free throw line.
Hannah Meverden added eight points and 10 rebounds for Marshfield.
Caitlin Deaton had 23 points, making 10 of 14 at the free throw line, to lead West.
The Warriors shot just 20 percent (13 of 62) from the field.
The Tigers will host Eau Claire North in a nonconference game Tuesday.
