Spencer/Columbus wrestling cruises to win over Cadott

Rockets win four matches by pin

SPENCER — Spencer/Columbus Catholic had four pins on its way to a 44-15 win over Cadott in a Cloverbelt Conference wrestling dual on Thursday at Spencer High School.

Austin Post got things started with a pin at 132 pounds for the Rockets (4-1 Cloverbelt Conference) 43 seconds into the second period.

Austin Day (170), Hunter Luepke (195), and Jake Dick (106) also had pins for Spencer/Columbus, and Tim Bauer added a 15-0 technical fall victory.

Spencer/Columbus’ next meet is Saturday at the St. Croix Falls Invitational.

152: Nate Neumann (SC) def. Tyler Gillett 6-2.
160: James Pfeiffer (CAD) def. Hunter Hildebrandt 7-3.
170: Austin Day (SC) pinned Dominick Grimm in 2:52.
182: Elijah Welsh (SC) def. Mitchell Gunderson 11-6.
195: Hunter Luepke (SC) pinned Ethan Haider in 0:19.
220: C.J. Spaeth (CAD) won by forfeit.
285: Logan Zschernitz (SC) won by forfeit.
106: Jake Dick (SC) pinned Shane Chady in 3:59.
113: Double forfeit.
120: Bailey Gillett (CAD) def. Dominick Wichlacz 11-7.
126: Bryce Shaw (SC) def. Andrew Gunderson 8-7.
