Marauders improve to 8-3 with home win

MARSHFIELD — Hayley Bunnell had a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, and the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team overcame a slow start to beat UW-Manitowoc 54-44 in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game Wednesday at the Marauder Gym.

Manitowoc led 17-13 after one quarter before the Marauders stormed back, outscoring the Blue Devils 28-12 during the middle two quarters.

Allie Paitel added 14 points and eight rebounds, and Carrie Stroetz had 11 points and eight rebounds for UW-Marshfield (8-3).

The Marauders held a 52-39 rebounding advantage, which included 22 offensive rebounds and seven second-chance points.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County is at UW-Fond du Lac on Friday.
