Capital competition: Marshfield holds Citywide Geography Bee

MARSHFIELD — The Citywide Geography Bee was held at Lincoln Elementary School on Jan. 11. The citywide bee was open to students in grades four, five, and six who excelled in their respective school competitions. Twenty-eight students representing Grant, Lincoln, Madison, Nasonville, and Washington Elementary Schools and Trinity Lutheran competed.

After three elimination rounds, the following students advanced to the championship round, which resulted in a tie for second place:

—Evan Grassman, Nasonville Elementary School, runner-up.

—Simone Chaney, Grant Elementary School, runner-up.

—Sonia Dissanayake, Grant Elementary School, 2016 Citywide Geography Bee Champion.
