Gogebic tops UW-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball in tournament title game

Marauders now 3-7

MARSHFIELD — The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team shot just 27 percent and dropped a 75-59 decision to Gogebic Community College in the championship game of the 45th annual UW-Marshfield Classic on Saturday at the Marauder Gym.

The Marauders (3-7) made 19 of 70 field goal attempts and were 3 of 26 from 3-point range in the loss.

Joe Estrict had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Hunter Busse added 14 points, and Josh Hennes had 13 for the Marauders.

Adam Mackey led Gogebic with 15 points.

The Marauders next game is Friday at UW-Fond du Lac.
