Wisconsin Rapids sweeps all events to beat Marshfield boys swimming

Tigers finish second in 10 events

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Wisconsin Rapids won all 11 events to top Marshfield 99-70 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming dual on Thursday at Lincoln High School.

Marshfield was second in all but one event.

Brian Engel took second in the 100-meter backstroke (1:16.96) and the 100 freestyle (1:02.22), Anthony Hartwig was second in the 200 freestyle (2:31.58) and 400 freestyle (5:24.68), Jacob Dick took second in the 200 individual medley (2:49.99), Michael Kruse finished second in the 100 butterfly (1:15.89), and Scott Thompson was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:28.09).

The Tigers were also second in all three relays.

Marshfield’s next meet is Tuesday at La Crosse Central.
