Owen-Withee knocks off Spencer girls basketball

Rockets fall to 5-4

OWEN — Owen-Withee used a strong first half to send the Spencer girls basketball team to its second-straight defeat, 62-50, in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Owen-Withee High School.

Owen-Withee pulled out to a 32-18 halftime lead and held on from there.

The Blackhawks (6-3, 5-2 Cloverbelt East) made 19 of 35 free throws to pull out the win. Spencer was just 10 of 19.

Whitney Baehr led Owen-Withee with 22 points, which include 8 of 13 from the free throw line.

Sydney Kind had 19 points, including three 3-pointers, for Spencer (5-4, 4-3 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer’s next game is at home Tuesday against Greenwood.
