Stratford wrestling tops Stevens Point

Tigers ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 3

STRATFORD — Stratford, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 3 by wiwrestling.com, dominated Stevens Point, the 10th-ranked team in Division 1, in a nonconference dual match Tuesday night at Stratford High School 50-18.

Macey Kilty (106 pounds), Jordan Becker (138), Sam Wenzel (145), and Kam Bornbach (220) won by the pin for Stratford.

Jeremy Schoenherr (126) and Mason Kauffman (152) earned wins by technical fall, and Jake Drexler (113), David Marquardt (160), and Tyson Kauffman (285) won by decision for the Tigers.

Stratford will compete at the Bi-State Classic in La Crosse on Dec. 29-30.

138: Jordan Becker (STR) pinned Tanner Kluck in 0:50.
145: Sam Wenzel (STR) pinned Dylan Trigg in 0:43.
152: Mason Kauffman (STR) won by technical fall over Logan Reed 17-2.
160: David Marquardt (STR) def. David Lummis 8-0.
170: Fritz Schierl (SP) pinned Dylan Schoenherr in 0:27.
182: Jake Harlow (SP) pinned Kyle Giebel in 3:03.
195: Noah Knetter (STR) won by forfeit.
220: Kam Bornbach (STR) pinned Brandon Patoka in 1:12.
285: Tyson Kauffman (STR) def. Jacob Erdmann 3-0.
