Columbus Catholic boys basketball blows past Granton

Dons remain perfect at 8-0

GRANTON — The high-flying Marshfield Columbus Catholic offense continued its onslaught on its opponents this season, scoring 57 first-half points on its way to a 82-40 rout of Granton in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Monday at Granton High School.

Eleven Dons scored in the win. Hunter Schultz led the way with 15 points, Tyler Fuerlinger and Noah Hansen each added 13 points, and Evan Nikolai scored 11 for Columbus, which is now 8-0 and 5-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Granton is now 1-7 and 1-5 in the conference.

The Dons made quick work of Granton, pulling out to a 57-17 lead by halftime.

Mike Meddaugh scored 20 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Columbus Catholic returns to action Jan. 5 at home against Greenwood.
