Spencer/Columbus wrestling wins first conference dual meet

Rockets win four matches by pin

OSSEO — Spencer/Columbus Catholic won four matches by forfeit and four others by pin as it defeated Osseo-Fairchild/Augusta/Fall Creek 58-18 in its Cloverbelt Conference dual meet opener Thursday night at Osseo-Fairchild High School.

Hunter Luepke (220 pounds), Logan Zschernitz (285), Tim Bauer (138), and Nate Neumann (160) won with pins for the Rockets.

Elijah Welsh (195), Jake Dick (113), Dominick Wichlacz (120), and Bryce Shaw (126) earned wins by forfeit. Austin Post (132) won a major decision, and Caden Schillinger (145) and Carson Hildebrandt (152) won decisions for Spencer/Columbus.

The Rockets will compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Saturday and has its home opener next Thursday against Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal.

120 – Dominick Wichlacz (SC) won by forfeit.
126 – Bryce Shaw (SC) won by forfeit.
132 – Austin Post (SC) won major dec. over Kyle Gjerseth 14-0.
138 – Tim Bauer (SC) pinned Evan Stenson in 1:42.
145 – Caden Schillinger (SC) def. Joe Zamora 7-6.
152 – Carson Hildebrandt (SC) def. Tom Fischer 14-10.
160 – Nate Neumann (SC) pinned Jesse Zamora in 4:47.
170 – Dakota Steinke (OF/A/FC) pinned Austin Day in 2:42.
182 – Trevor Fischer (OF/A/FC) pinned Jake Hainzlsperger in 5:29.
