MARSHFIELD — “Holiday Showcase…on Chestnut!” is a festive open house designed for you to celebrate the season. Hosted by the Chestnut Center for the Arts, the event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 6, from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Live holiday entertainment, thousands of items for sale by artists and crafters, art demonstrations and displays, a silent auction, the “Once-Loved Art” auction, and free refreshments are all a part of the afternoon merriment.

All of the artists and crafters, plus additional artists not selling their work at this year’s event, have donated items to the silent auction. Their more than 20 pieces will be on display and available for bidding throughout the afternoon in the Chestnut Gallery.

The “Once-Loved Art” auction, coordinated by Mary Jo Fritsche, will take place in the Terrazzo Room. All items are graciously donated by their previous owners, good friends of Chestnut Center and of the arts.

“There’s something for every taste,” Fritsche said. “And so much of the work is ready for immediate hanging in its new setting.”

“Auction items will display a ‘Buy It Now’ price,” she added. “So there will be no need to wait until the end of the auction to take home a piece that you really want.”

Clay bowl-making, for those who wish to hand build a bowl for the “Marshfield Area Empty Bowls” event, will be offered in the Chestnut Center’s Clay Studio.

There is no admission charge for the event. For more information call 715-389-8999 or visit
chestnutarts.org. The Chestnut Center for the Arts is located at the corner of Third Street and Chestnut Avenue in downtown Marshfield.
