Thursday, Nov. 5
Man taken into custody for Wood County warrant
At 12:19 p.m. police took a 25-year-old Marshfield man into custody for a valid Wood County warrant near the intersection of Park Street and Spruce Avenue. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and transported to Wood County Jail after he was unable to post the required $313.50 bond.
Marshfield man arrested for domestic abuse
Police arrested a 30-year-old Marshfield man for domestic abuse after he was involved in an altercation at 6:54 p.m. The man was also on probation, and a probation hold was placed on him due to the incident.
The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later to Wood County Jail. Charges of domestic abuse, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor bail jumping will be sought through the Wood County district attorney’s office.
Friday, Nov. 6
Rapids man steals car stereos from store
A loss prevention worker at a store on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. reported that a male individual was observed on video surveillance from Nov. 4 removing two different car stereos from their boxes. The man then concealed the stereos under his jacket and exited the store without paying for them.
The man was identified as a 33-year-old from Wisconsin Rapids. Police checked and found no listings of the items being pawned, and they were entered into the National Crime Information Center database. Charges are being requested through the Marathon County DA’s office.
Stolen vehicle located on Central Avenue
A Marathon County Sheriff’s deputy located a stolen vehicle on the 100 block of Central Ave. at 2:48 a.m. Upon arrival, the four occupants were ordered out of the vehicle.
It was later discovered a parent of one of the occupants purchased the vehicle with a bounced check. The occupants were released, and the vehicle was towed to the Marshfield Police Department impound, where it will be released to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department.
Nevada man posts bond for Wood County warrant
Police arrested a 71-year-old Nevada man on the 1700 block of W. McMillan St. for a valid Wood County warrant. The man posted the $100 bond and was booked and then released.
Saturday, Nov. 7
Police respond to dispute between adults
At 12:19 a.m. a 47-year-old Marshfield man reported a disturbance with a 39-year-old Marshfield woman on the 1300 block of N. Hume Ave. When police arrived, the two involved individuals were talking calmly outside.
The woman was the man’s friend and had gotten upset that the man was talking to other women besides her. The man claimed the woman struck him but only wanted the woman to leave and said that he did not want any further contact. The woman agreed to cease all contact. No further action was taken.
Former Marshfield resident’s property stolen
A 21-year-old woman that had moved to Missouri a month ago returned to Marshfield to retrieve her possessions from a residence on the 300 block of W. Cleveland St. and reported at 5:13 a.m. that a king size bed, Keurig coffeemaker, and iHome media center were missing.
The woman suspected her former roommate, a 24-year-old Marshfield woman, took the items. The investigation is ongoing.
Milwaukee man turns himself in for warrant
A 45-year-old Milwaukee man turned himself in at the Marshfield Police Department for a valid Wood County warrant. The man was booked and paid the full cash bond of $200. He was then released and given a new court date.
Sunday, Nov. 8
Man arrested for disorderly conduct
Police arrested a 59-year-old Marshfield man. He was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on Nov. 6 on the 1400 block of N. Peach Ave. Charges are being requested through the Wood County DA’s office.
Monday, Nov. 9
Marshfield man causes disturbance at shelter
Police responded at 3:28 a.m. to a report of a disturbance. A 33-year-old Marshfield man staying at a shelter had been asked to leave for the evening due to his intoxication. The man then walked around the building and knocked on his girlfriend’s window, which frightened her.
Officers were unable to locate the man but spoke with him over the phone. He was informed that he was no longer welcome at the shelter at any time and that his presence there could result in him being arrested for trespassing.
Tuesday, Nov. 10
Man taken into custody for multiple offenses following traffic stop
Police took a 22-year-old Marshfield man into custody for possession of THC; possession of drug paraphernalia; and operating after revocation, operating while under the influence-related following a traffic stop at 4:57 p.m. near the intersection of Heide Lane and Hume Avenue.
He was taken to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later transported to Wood County Jail. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County DA’s office.
