Gamers to raise funds for pediatric patients
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — Gamers registered in Extra Life, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising program, are preparing to raise funds and awareness for Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 7: 2015’s Extra Life Game Day.
For the 24-hour fundraiser, gamers register for free at Extra-Life.org, select their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, establish a fundraising goal, and seek donations from friends and family.
Since 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $14 million, benefiting 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across North America. North central Wisconsin gamers raised more than $6,000 during last year’s game day alone. Donations stay local to the community in which they are raised and benefit Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, funding specialized equipment and programs for pediatric patients.
Those interested in gaming for children treated at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital can register at Extra-Life.org. For questions about the Extra Life program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, please contact Iilee Pederson at [email protected].
