Saint Joseph’s Hospital recognizes volunteers, volunteens

MARSHFIELD — Each month volunteer services at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital (MSJH) randomly selects two adult volunteers to be featured in its “Getting to Know Your Volunteers” recognition. This month you are getting to know Dagny Burke and Betty Schultz.

Burke

Burke has been donating her time and talents to MSJH for nine years. She has served at the direction desk and has given 611 hours to date. When asked why she enjoys volunteering for the hospital, she answered, “I enjoy helping people that are not sure where to go in our hospital. I worked at MSJH for 18 years, and since I retired I have enjoyed volunteering at the direction desk.”

Schultz

Schultz

Schultz has donating her time to MSJH for two years. She has served in the outpatient family waiting room and outpatient nuclear medicine waiting room and has given 694 hours to date. When asked why she enjoys volunteering for the hospital, she answered, “As I looked forward to retirement years, it was my hope to do volunteering, and I have found joy and satisfaction helping the families in the family waiting room. We always hope to relieve the anxiety of their stay. I have been lucky to meet and work with great new people. ”

Volunteens rack up the hours

Aman Bassi has donated more than 50 hours of service. Bassi has volunteered with pediatrics and the House of the Dove Hospice Home. He is a freshman at Marshfield High School and the son of Tarun and Deepa Bassi of Marshfield.

Niall Ellias has donated more than 50 hours of service. Ellias has volunteered with the main information desk. He is a sophomore at Columbus Catholic High School and is the son of Martha Foy and Yakub Ellias of Marshfield.

Hanna Flannery has donated more than 50 hours of service. Flannery has volunteered with the inpatient pharmacy. She is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Randy and Heidi Flannery of Marshfield.

Macey Kilty has donated more than 50 hours of service. Kilty has volunteered with the main information desk, nuclear medicine outpatient waiting room, and special projects. She is a freshman at Stratford High School and is the daughter of Patrick and Keresa Kilty of Stratford.

Kathryn Lafferty has donated more than 50 hours of service. Lafferty has volunteered on the pediatric unit. She is a sophomore at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Mark and Scharme Lafferty of Marshfield.

Bethany Mader has donated more than 50 hours of service. Mader has volunteered with the House of the Dove Hospice Home and the child care center. She is a freshman at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Rob and Leslie Mader of Marshfield.

Emily Merkel has donated more than 50 hours of service. Merkel has volunteered at the main information desk and on the pediatric unit. She is a freshman at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Keith Merkel and Kris Melaas Merkel of Marshfield.

Madeline Mews has donated more than 50 hours of service. Mews has volunteered with the inpatient pharmacy. She is a freshman at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Kent and Cheryl Mews of Marshfield.

Morgan Nordbeck has donated more than 50 hours of service. Nordbeck has volunteered with the House of the Dove Hospice Home. She is a sophomore at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of John and Sara Nordbeck of Marshfield.

Miranda Ortner has donated more than 50 hours of service. Ortner has volunteered on the pediatric unit. She is a senior at Pittsville High School and is the daughter of Joseph and Marcella Ortner of Pittsville.

Jeremy Schoenherr has donated more than 50 hours of service. Schoenherr has volunteered with the inpatient pharmacy. He is a sophomore at Stratford High School and is the son of Tadd and Janet Schoenherr of Stratford.

McKinsey Vrana has donated more than 50 hours of service. Vrana has volunteered on the critical care unit and with the Coffee Café. She is a sophomore at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Kim and Sue Vrana of Marshfield.

Leah Body has donated more than 200 hours of service. Body has volunteered with the child care center, outpatient and inpatient pharmacy, NICU, and the gift shop. She is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Kenny and Lisa Body of Marshfield.

Maddison Clemens has donated more than 200 hours of service. Clemens has volunteered with emergency room reception, palliative care, pediatrics, the outpatient pharmacy, and the child care center. She is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Keith and Melody Clemens of Chili.

Michael Gui has donated more than 200 hours of service. Gui has volunteered with the House of the Dove Hospice Home. He is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the son of Mingjun Fang and Gaojun Gui of Marshfield.

Jenna Nordin has donated more than 200 hours of service. Nordin has volunteered with the gift shop, outpatient pharmacy, and Musical Talent for Rehab. She is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Ned and Joan Nordin of Marshfield.

Nicole Zador has donated more than 200 hours of service. Zador has volunteered with the magazine cart and at the House of the Dove Hospice Home. She is a senior at Marshfield High School and is the daughter of Ivan and Sandra Zador of Marshfield.
