Volunteers sought to rake leaves for those in need
For Hub City Times
MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Area United Way is recruiting volunteers to participate in National Make a Difference Day. On the morning of Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., participants will be raking leaves for elderly and disabled Marshfield residents in need of assistance with their yards.
Volunteers interested in helping on this day can register at volunteermarshfield.org, send an email to [email protected], or call 715-384-9992.
Volunteers are asked to register in advance so United Way can estimate how many lawns can be raked during the event. Volunteers will gather at the rear entrance of the Marshfield Area United Way office at 106 W. First St. to receive instructions and lawn assignments. United Way asks that volunteers bring their own rakes and have their own transportation. A light snack and water will be provided.
Residents who need help with their lawns should call United Way to see if they qualify for assistance. Please note that anyone receiving raking help must be home on the morning of Oct. 24. Additionally, residents are responsible for providing enough leaf bags to collect all the leaves raked by the volunteers.
Contact Marshfield Area United Way at 715-384-9992 with any questions.
