MADISON — The Marshfield doubles team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Serchen fought back to force a tiebreaker but could not pull out a win and fell to Frankie Ragonese and Lauren Sinese of Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels in the first round of the 2015 WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament Thursday afternoon at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
Haessly and Serchen, both seniors, lost 7-5, 2-6, 10-7 to bow out of the Division 1 No. 1 doubles bracket at the state tournament.
The Marshfield tandem finishes the season with a 16-12 record after making its first trip to state.
Ragonese and Sinese (11-6) move on to a second-round match against Amanda Skonieczny and Lauren Welse (23-7) of Cedarburg.
