Motorcyclist dead after crash in town of Marshfield

TOWN OF MARSHFIELD —A Pittsville man is dead after his motorcycle struck a sign on Highway 10 near Day Road in the town of Marshfield on Tuesday night. Wood County Deputies responded to the call at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver was not wearing a helmet, sustained severe injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the release.  The crash is still under investigation, and authorities are not yet releasing the name of the deceased.
