STRATFORD — The Stratford football team could not overcome an early deficit and lost a hard-fought 15-13 decision to Edgar in a Marawood Conference game Friday night at Tiger Stadium.
Edgar led 15-0 in the first quarter before the Tigers came back to make a game of it.
Kam Bornbach scored in the first quarter, and Taylor Krall added a 6-yard scoring run in the third to cut Edgar’s lead to 15-13.
The Tigers had a chance to win it near the end of regulation but missed a field goal in the closing seconds.
Stratford (3-2, 1-2 Marawood Conference) returns to action Sept. 25 at home against Chequamegon. Edgar is now 5-0 and 4-0 in the Marawood and plays Tomahawk next Friday.
Game details and statistics were not provided.
