Marshfield freshmen football blanks P.J. Jacobs
Tigers improve to 3-1

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield freshmen football team improved to 3-1 this season with a 27-0 shutout of Stevens Point P.J. Jacobs on Thursday at Marshfield High School.
Ryan Krueger threw three touchdown passes, two to Mason Coffren (35 and 40 yards) and another to Caden Pearce (20 yards).
Blaine Neinast scored on a 58-yard run, and Krueger converted three extra point kicks for the Tigers.
Nolan Hertel, Riley Boushack, and Jakob Kops led Marshfield in tackles, and the Tigers’ defense came up with five turnovers. Jared Hopperdietzel had a pair of interceptions, Hertel and Austin Mientke added interceptions, and Justin Stanek recovered a fumble in the win.
Marshfield plays at Mosinee at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
