Hoheisel stars as Tigers roll Oskosh West

OSHKOSH – Marshfield senior Nick Hoheisel had a game for the ages on Friday against Oshkosh West.

Hoheisel set a new school record with 271 yards rushing and scored five touchdowns as the Tigers ran past Oshkosh West 35-14 in a Valley Football Association South Division matchup at Titan Stadium.

Hoheisel started the game with a bang, returning the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown.

After West tied the game early in the second quarter, Hoheisel added touchdown runs of 10 and 3 yards to put the Tigers up 21-7 at halftime.

Marshfield’s defense halted West’s opening drive of the second half at the 23 and on the next play Hoheisel broke free, scoring a 77-yard touchdown. He added another TD run, from 19 yards away, early in the fourth quarter to give Marshfield a commanding 35-7 lead.

Marshfield outgained West 490-250, piling up 385 yards on the ground. Braden Bohman added 103 yards rushing for the Tigers.

Marshfield (3-1, 2-1 VFA South) hosts Wisconsin Rapids (2-2, 1-2 VFA South) on Sept. 18 at Beell Stadium. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com. Rapids lost to Hortonville on Friday, 29-19.
