Marshfield girls swimming sweeps all events to beat Merrill

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls swim team won all 11 events and rolled to a 115-52 victory over Merrill in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener on Thursday at Marshfield High School.

Sophie Koehn (200 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Elizabeth Holbrook (200 IM, 100 breaststroke), and Ryenne Zee (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) each won two events, and the three teamed with Megan Donahue to win the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

Others winners for Marshfield were Valerie Kushnir in the 100 butterfly, Madi Hall in the 500 freestyle, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Malina Barker, Hall, Kushnir, and Elizabeth Lecker.

Marshfield’s next meet is Sept. 17 at D.C. Everest.
