Maple Avenue project update: Sept. 10, 2015

Phase 1: Maple Avenue from Veterans Parkway to Fourth Street and Third Street from Maple Avenue to Central Avenue

MARSHFIELD — Phase 1 is complete and has been reopened to traffic.

Phase 2: Fourth Street from Central Avenue to Maple Avenue

All pavingand joint sealing has been completed. Epoxy pavement marking was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9, and the asphalt pavement tie-in locations will follow. With this work completed, Fourth Street is open to traffic.

Phase 3: Maple Avenue from Sixth Street to Fourth Street and Fifth Street from Central Avenue to Maple Avenue

The intersection of Sixth Street and Maple Avenue is currently under construction. All of the underground work and concrete work is complete. The asphalt work was scheduled for Wednesday. It was anticipated that this intersection could be reopened to traffic today.

Following the opening of Fourth Street, the remaining portion of Maple Avenue and Fifth Street will be closed to complete this project. The work remaining includes storm sewer, water main, excavation, and concrete paving.

2016 construction of Second Street from Maple Avenue to Chestnut Avenue

The Marshfield Common Council has approved the concepts for the Second Street Corridor. Design work will begin soon based upon the conceptual designs linked here.
