Marshfield volleyball second to Altoona at home invite

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team went 4-1 and placed second at its home tournament on Saturday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers beat Wauwatosa West 25-12, 25-19; Superior 25-9, 25-8; Rhinelander 25-18, 25-6; and Medford 25-17, 25-19; before losing to Altoona 22-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Altoona went 5-0 to win the team title.

Stephanie Rhodes, Alexa Aumann and Hannah Meverden each had 32 kills for the Tigers. Aumnann had 12 blocks, Anna Ripp led Marshfield with 88 assists and added 31 digs, 11 blocks and six aces, and Sara Dasler had 52 digs in the five matches. Jenny Scheppler and Dasler also had six aces each.

Marshfield’s next match is Thurssday at D.C. Everest.
