The Rockets rallied to defeat Chippewa Falls McDonell 23-25, 25-22, 25-12; lost to Stanley-Boyd 19-25, 25-14, 25-18; and swept Pittsville 25-9, 25-14 and Prentice 25-18, 25-6.
Stanley-Boyd finished undefeated at 4-0 to win the tournament title.
Macie Weber had 28 kills, 10 blocks, and six aces; Sydney Kind had 14 kills; McKenzie Baher had 55 assists; and Jenna Rogers led the defense with 39 digs for Spencer.
“A lot of peaks and valleys — when we moved and talked, things went well,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “To beat a team like Stanley-Boyd, we need to clean up our errors. We have a lot to work on before Saturday.”
Spencer will play in the Marathon Early Bird Invitational on Saturday.
